Crabapple Medical Center began as a small clinic with a mission to provide compassionate, high-quality healthcare. Over the years, we have grown into a trusted institution, recognized for excellence in patient care, advanced treatments, and innovative medical technology.

Meet Our Provider

Ramla Sharif, MD is a board-certified family medicine physician and a geriatrician. She earned her MBBS from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, in 2000. From 2010-2013, she completed her Family Medicine Residency at the Columbus Regional Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia. The final phase of her graduate training was a fellowship in Geriatrics at the Emory University School of Medicine from 2013-2014.Dr. Sharif has been practicing medicine since 2011. She has worked as an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics) with Emory Healthcare.
Her areas of expertise include preventive medicine, managing a broad spectrum of acute and chronic illnesses including Diabetes Mellitus, Congestive Heart Failure, COPD, geriatric syndromes, and antiaging treatments. She also has great experience in rehabilitative medicine and caring for patients in assisted living facilities.
Dr. Sharif’s research includes designing a guidance tool for osteoporosis diagnosis and management in men and immobile patients at the VA Medical Center. She has also been involved in several projects focusing on quality improvement of patient care.
Dr. Sharif is a very kind and dedicated physician. Caring for patients of all age from children to elderly, is her passion. She is married with 3 children and loves to spend time with her family. Her hobbies include outdoor activities and reading.


Marianne B. Sandberg, MSN, RN, FNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with 8+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse. Born in Manila, Philippines, Marianne moved to Savannah, GA in 2008 and earned her BSN from Armstrong Atlantic State University in 2016. She began her career on a Medical-Surgical Oncology unit at St. Joseph’s Candler Hospital, where she developed a strong foundation in nursing. In 2019, she took a travel assignment to Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta on a Gastrointestinal Medical-Surgical unit, practicing as a CMSRN, relief charge nurse, preceptor, and COVID-19 frontline nurse. She also contributed to projects such as wound prevalence surveillance, fall prevention, and infection control.
After the pandemic, Marianne became a permanent staff nurse at Emory and returned to school to earn her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Georgia Southern University. She graduated in 2024 with honors, cum laude, and as a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
She is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and an active member of both the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Her professional affiliations highlight her commitment to continued learning and advancing clinical excellence in practice.
A dedicated and empathetic provider, Marianne believes in treating patients with dignity and respect to overcome social, cultural, and language barriers. Multilingual in English, Spanish, and Filipino, she values compassion and integrity as pillars of excellent care and enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband and pets.
